My sister helped make the invite, since I got the go-ahead to have the party while we were in Utah, and I didn't have access to a computer. I think it's pretty adorable:
Here's the set-up. I wanted to have a variety of shades of blues and pinks.
He ultrasound evidence was kept safely locked away, only opened after the big reveal!
We had "Dude Food" {meat lover's pizza, wings, t-bone steak with chimichurri, jalepeno cream dip, DEW, cookies WITH NUTS!} and "Chick Picks" {caprese skewers, cheese and crackers plate, fruit, sweet corn dip, peach salsa, tickled pink punch, cookies WITHOUT NUTS!} The food was great!
As everyone came in, they got to place their bets and put their names on a ticket, corresponding to the color of their guess. Bando was all in on pink.
I'd asked Julia {and Jordan} to answer some old wives' questions to predict the gender.
We kept a tally of the votes. The sign in sheet also included a name suggestion for the appropriate gender.
The 3 boys all voted pink!
Julia's mom {Lee}, Julia, Julia's sister {Laura}, and ME:
The kids had a great time playing outside. Kyle was in charge of making sure no one messed with the secret box.
Before the big reveal, we had 2 more Old Wives' prediction tests to do. The Key Test--Julia picked up the larger side of a key, which predicts BOY. We also did a little Voo Doo, with The Ring Test. Using a strand of hair, the mother's wedding ring is suspended over the belly. If the ring moves back and forth, the baby is said to be a girl. If the ring moves in a circle, the baby is said to be a boy. This ring was all circles--BOY!
With the votes in and the Old Wives' Predictions made, the odds were still pretty much even. Imagine that!?!
We headed outside for the big reveal!
Team Blue:
Team Pink:
Exciting!!!!
NO WAY!!!!
It's a BOY!!!!!
Smiles, all around!
Team Blue wins!!!!!
Oh, well......
Speaking of winners.....I drew out the winning name from team blue.
Guess who won? KYLE COOP!
Old money bags, here.
After the party, this boy just wanted to get in the box. Maybe we'll send him up to College Station to help Uncle Bando and Aunt Julia get even more prepared for Bando Jr.! :)
What a fun night!
